As the Rebels were preparing to host the Georgia Bulldogs for a 2:30 p.m. Central tipoff, almost 100 pro-Confederate supporters gathered in Oxford to protest past actions of the University of Mississippi to remove Confederate emblems and songs and to place plaques on certain monuments to provide historical context about people and actions being memorialized.
